Hello from Chennai India

Its Tuesday, my 4th day in Chennai and the first day I have access to a computer. The trip here was uneventful but exceedinglylong. From Chicago to Paris was ten hours. And after a two hour break, nine hours more, to fly from Paris to Chennai. I almost missed my Paris flight when the fine folks at Delta told me to go to the wrong terminal at O`Hare. I actually asked three different people from Delta and they all told me same (wrong) thing.

The airport in Paris was quite interesting.  Anyone wondering why the French continually lose wars would find the answer with a single trip through Charles de Gaulle airport.  The plane lands fairly close to the terminal and then taxis a great distance away.  Passengers disembark and are bused through a series of allies that reminded me of the back lot of universal studios in Hollywood.

The Chennai airport was perfectly modern (and quite empty at 1:00am) and customs was quick and efficient.  I was curious if my luggage would actually arrive with me (since I changed carriers three times) but within moments my bag arrived and I was on my way. Since the roads were empty I didn’t get a real flavor of Indian driver techniques until the next day.
